Ch26 Meeting2

Fuck. My plan hadn’t worked. I struggled against the guards who brought me to a car and shoved me into the passenger side. My hands tied together in front. I pulled at the zip ties trying to work my hands free like my life depended on it.

They shoved Amy into the back before slamming the door closed.

What are we going to do? She asked via the mind link.

The first thing I checked to see if I could find the car keys but Colt hadn’t been stupid enough to leave them in the car.

“Shit,” I muttered, realizing that we were running out of time.

“I’m all for sexy Alpha males but this one. There is something seriously off about him,” Amy whispered. “And honestly I’m not into pain and suffering.” Her voice filled with a growing fear I could feel building up inside me.

I didn’t have to know Colt Richards well to know that he liked to inflict pain and suffering. Something we both wanted to avoid.

I want to lash out at the increasing realization that we were going to be taken to a new pack and integrated however Colt saw fit. My stomach turned and I wanted to be sick. This could not be happening. I had not spent my whole life trying to gain my independence for it to be stamped out by a dangerous abusive alpha.

Frantically, I searched through the front of the car as best as I could, trying to find something I could use as a weapon but there was nothing.

I checked the rearview mirror to see Colt striding to the car and knew we were out of time. We had no way of escape.

He got into the car, not even giving us a second glance. I held my breath as I watched him start the car.

We have to do something. Amy said.

My mind was frantic with any idea that would stall him enough to give us a chance.

“Is it going to be a long trip?” I asked, already knowing that his pack wasn’t far.

It’s probably why he had opted to travel alone. And besides who would attack an Alpha as strong as he was. No one.

He glanced at me but remained silent as he drove down the driveway to the gate. He stopped as the gates began to open.

I could feel the panic start to build with each passing moment. I had to do something, I couldn’t let this happen.

“You know we could take a little de tour,” I said, suggestively leaning closer to him.

His eyes glancing at my ample cleavage before focussing his disinterested attention back to the front.

The silence stretched on as he eased the car past the gates and turned into the road. I got a glimpse of the car we had left outside the property briefly before it disappeared into the distance.

Each second we were getting further away from freedom.

Do something. Amy commanded urgently.

“You could pull over and I could make you feel so good,” I whispered against his ear, trying my best to hide the panic and fear I was experiencing.

He frowned, his hands tightened on the steering wheel. I could see his the hair on his skin stand where my breath had touched him and knew I was having some affect.

“I’ve learned a thing or two that would blow your mind,” I continued suggestively, knowing our survival depended on it.

He threw me a glare. “I know what you’re trying to do. Stop it.”

He shoved me back into my seat. The car veered slightly into the oncoming lane. Thankfully the road we were traveling on was quiet. There was no other car in sight.

It was then I had the craziest idea. So crazy it might just work.

Hold on. I said to Amy.

If it weren’t for the fact that we were werewolves I wouldn’t have even contemplated doing what I was about it.

I moved slowly back to lean close to Colt. Before he had a chance to say anything I grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it as hard as I could toward myself.

Time slowed as the car screeched. Colt pulled against the wheel to go in the opposite direction to counter but it was too late. I braced myself as best I could very aware I had no seat belt on.

The car flipped and began to tumble. Glass shattered, metal scrapped. I felt the jar against my shoulder and I hit my head. I couldn’t taste the metallic taste of blood as it dripped down my face.

The car rolled and rolled. It felt like forever before it came to stop upside down.

Colt was out cold. He had a cut against his forehead. I gasped and tried to squirm free trying to move slowly out of the window. I was injured, everything hurt but I had succeeded in stopping the car. My hands were still bound but I could still pull myself out of the car. My entire focus was getting out as quickly as possible, pushing through the pain.

I managed to stand before limping to help Amy.

She was still in shock.

“Are you okay?”

She nodded slowly. She looked bruised and battered but alive. We were both alive but we had to get out of there before Colt woke up.

“We have to go.”

I cleared as much as the broke glass by the window to allow her to wiggle through like I had.

“That was crazy,” she whispered, slowly standing. “I can’t believe you did that.”

She had some small cuts that were bleeding but didn’t seem to have any serious injuries. Of the two of us, I was in worse shape. My head hurt, it felt like I had a stampede of elephants trampling through it.

“You okay?” Amy asked.

I nodded. “We don’t have much time. We have to get out of here.”

I went straight to the forest that lined the road, losing sight of the accident. At least we were hidden from the view of the road but I had no idea which way to go.

Did we go back to the car? It would be the quickest way out. Or did we head deeper into the forest but I had no idea where it would lead us.

“Here,” Amy said taking a sharp stone on the ground and working me from my restraints. I leaned against the tree for support and too the stone to do the same for her.

“We need to get back to the car,” she insisted.

I nodded. I felt so dizzy I struggled to stand.

“You’re injured,” Amy murmured but I refused to stop.

We had come this far. I would not be the reason we didn’t get out this.

There was no time to rest or see to any immediate injuries. We had to get out of there. Any second Colt wake up.

We were in enemy territory which meant we were not only trying to out run Colt we also had to avoid my family.

I wanted to close my eyes and give into the darkness but the will that I would survive kept me from giving in. I limped behind Amy as best as I could. We moved as quickly as we could. Our heavy breathing the only sound. My shoulder throbbed.

I wiped the blood from my face trying to focus on the task at hand and not how much the pain I was in. It was the adrenaline and fear that kept me going.

It was the animalistic roar that stopped us both in our tracks. Our gazes went to the path we had just made our way through.

It’s him. Amy whispered in our mind link.

We were in trouble now. We were in a strange place, both of us injured with a very angry Alpha after us.

We kept going, as fast as we could. I breathed through the pain knowing there was no time to stop.

I had no idea if we would even make it to the car in time but we had to try.

Amy looped her arm around my shoulder and helped me walk a little quicker.

I’m slowing you down. I told her stopping.

I’m not leaving you. She said with determination. We are in this together good or bad.

We were very aware of the sounds of Colt closing in on us, trying to cover as much ground before he found us.

When I heard the sound of a growl behind us, I knew we had run out of time. And we were no where near the car.

We were in serious trouble now.
